SENIOR PASTOR
Rev. Daniel Carter
Dan came to Calvary by way of Ohio, by way of New Jersey, by way of Michigan. He is fond of saying that in 2012 he only applied for one job and that was the Senior Pastor role at Calvary. That is how deep his love of Calvary's mission and vision goes. Dan has a long list of loves besides his love for Calvary and the Holland Heights neighborhood: Krista, his wife, and his two children; reading almost anything; and listening to jazz and classical music. Running (and triathlon), though, is what captures most of his free time. Many of his deepest loves come together through exercise - standing in awe of nature, praying, sermon planning, and getting muddy. Dan received his Bachelor's degree from Hope College in English literature for Secondary Education. He received his Masters from Princeton Theological Seminary and is ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA). While still ordained Presbyterian, Dan has joyfully thrown himself into the life and work of the Reformed Church and is so proud to embody Calvary's ecumenical spirit.
